Year Six Geography Success!

Last half term, Miss Hemingway planned a fabulous, engaging geography module and taught it to the Year Six children over 6 weeks. 
The children recapped knowledge from other years: countries and capitals of the United Kingdom; the seven continents of the world. 
The children then learnt new skills: 8 figure grid referencing; studying physical and human features of Central America (linked to our Ancient Maya history topic); comparisons of Central America to the UK. 

The children showcased their new knowledge by working in groups to create a poster of a chosen Central American country. They then presented their posters to their peers, practising their oracy skills.
