Year Six Science Day!

Last week, our Year Six children enjoyed a fantastic science day!

In maths, they learnt that in just one cell of their body, the DNA would stretch to 2m! They were then set on a mission to find how far their DNA would stretch if they were to use all of the cells in their body!

We were very lucky to have a visitor come and deliver a science DNA workshop too. The children learnt about what DNA is and the structure of it. They then got to extract the DNA out of a strawberry. They were fascinated by the end result! A big thank you to MundiPharma for visiting and delivering the workshop! What an experience for the children!

Part of the day was also setting the children off to plan, set up and carry out their own scientific investigation as independent scientists. They were told they needed to investigate light and shadow. It was lovely seeing their great team work, applying scientific skills and reviewing their learning from Year 3 & 5 too!

Below are a range of photos from throughout the day.
