As
part of the introduction to the Design Technology project on
programming model fairground rides, Year Six enjoyed a fantastic day
trip to Legoland Windsor today.
As
well as being great fun, the visit allowed all the children to research
more about fairground rides and take part in a workshop session led by
Legoland staff. This
session introduced Year Six to the ‘WeDo’ Lego software that we will
use in school when designing, making and controlling our own fairground
rides.
Highlights
of the day included making a model lion from Lego that could move, roar
and snore, visiting the amazing Lego Mini-land and experiencing lots of
the exhilarating rides first hand!
A big thank you to all of the adults who gave up their time on what was a long day – but definitely worth it! Thank you.
