Who knows more about the Maya number and calendar systems, you or a Year Six child?
Welcome to the Year Six website. On this website, we will be sharing examples of our children's work. This page is a workshop containing examples of learning in action. The work will not be the children's 'final draft’.

Year Six Autobiographies
Last week, the Year Six children spent some time at home discussing a memorable event. They made notes on a planning document, reviewed some exciting sentence structures and wrote about their chosen event in an autobiographical style.
The children were incredibly proud of their descriptive, emotive writing.

Emma Watson Biographies
Again this year, one of our first pieces of writing has been based around the life of Emma Watson. We researched her early life, Harry Potter role and then her life since. Here is the writing by Brodie D and Holly P.
If Emma, or someone connected to her happens to read this, we'd love to know what you think of our work.

Learning about inheritance in Year Six
During the first lesson of our first science module, Evolution and Inheritance, children learnt about what inheritance meant.
They discussed what features, in humans, are inherited and which are influenced by the environment. They then applied this knowledge by observing different animals with their offspring and noting features the young had inherited from their parents.
The children loved being outside, discussing inheritance and noting down observations!
